The mission of our dojo is to share the art of Aikido in a welcoming, family friendly, peaceful and joyful environment.

Affiliation 

The Aikido Center of Dover is affiliated with the USAF, (United States Aikido Federation), the largest Aikido association in America headed by Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan.

Classes

We have classes for all ages:

Training with Tots - our parent/preschooler class open to 0 - 5 years old, with parents. 

Kids class for 5-12 years old

Teen/adult classes for older kids and adults of all ages

BEAT trauma recovery classes for survivors of abuse and other trauma 

Who We Are         

We are a traditional Aikido dojo with Chief Instructor Janice Taitel, MD, Fukoshidoin.  We welcome students of any age, gender, race, ethnicity, immigration status, language, sexual orientation, religion, physical condition, or hair color.  We are PTSD-friendly.

Veterans train FREE.

(We just ask for your time and energy) 

Donations

In order to make Aikido available to everone who wants to learn, including low-income local residents, our prices are below cost, and nobody is excluded because of inability to pay.  We welcome contributions from supporters to allow us to continue this policy. 

Rank and Testing

As a USAF member dojo, we adhere to USAF standards.  For adult testing requirements, click here.  Kids have separate requirements with lots of fun stripes and colored belts and NO KIDS TESTING FEES or contracts.  You can't buy your belt; you'll earn it.
